WATSON- An accident Wednesday night in Lewis County has led to a fatality, authorities confirm.
Emergency responders received calls that night of a truck that had gone off from the road and smashed into a parked trailer. It happened shortly after 9:15 p.m. on the North Chases Lake Road, town of Watson, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigation so far has revealed that Richard A. Buske, 66, of Cape Vincent, NY was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound. Police said there was a left curve in the roadway that he failed to negotiate. Buske’s truck ended up smashing into a parked trailer, which was just off from the roadway.
Ambulance crews from Lewis County Search & Rescue rushed Buske to Lowville Hospital, where he later passed from his injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Members from the New York State Police; Lowville Fire Department and Monnat’s Towing all assisted on scene.
