OLD FORGE- The driver who crashed into a local river system over the weekend is formally charged with failing to keep right and speeds not reasonable or prudent, officials say.

It was at around 7:00 a.m. Sunday when Town of Webb Police and other agencies were called out to North Street, Old Forge, NY for a vehicle that ended up in the North Branch of Moose River.

Investigation has determined that Ryan Holleran (no age provided), of Ilion, NY was traveling north at an unreasonable speed, Chief of Police Ron Johnston said. Holleran ran into a snowbank and several trees before ending up submerged into the North Branch of Moose River.

He and his two passengers, identified as Julianna Russell, of Old Forge, NY and Samson Green-Spradley, of New York Mills, NY, managed to escape without any reported injuries.

Crews from Shufelt’s Towing removed the vehicle.

Holleran was issued with traffic tickets, which are returnable to Webb Town Court at a later date.
