
WATERTOWN- Two North Country residents are faced with several charges, including felonies, after police investigated a burglary in progress this week in Jefferson County.
Donald G. Bishop, 33, and Zachary Benedict Guichard, 44, both of Carthage, NY were arrested Tuesday morning by the New York State Police (Watertown). Both are formally charged with one felony count each of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the third-degree, criminally possessing a controlled substance in the fourth-degree and burglary in the third-degree; along with one misdemeanor count each of criminal mischief (w/intent to damage property), possessing burglar tools, criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second-degree (package/scales) and criminally trespassing in the third-degree.
According to Troopers, these charges all stem from a reported burglary in progress early Tuesday in the town of Watertown.
At press time, police said an investigation was pending.
The arrest statuses for Bishop and Guichard were both listed as centralized arraignment as of this report.
