
TURIN- A local resident is accused of felony fraud in Lewis County, authorities say.
Steven Fazekas, 67, of Turin, NY was arrested Tuesday morning by the New York State Police (Lowville). Fazekas is formally charged with one felony count each of grand larceny in the third-degree (property value exceeding $3,000) and insurance fraud in the third-degree (property value exceeding $3,000).
According to Troopers, these charges stem from a town of Turin fraud case, which was launched in June.
At press time, police said an investigation was pending and Fazekas’ arrest status was listed as centralized arraignment.
