DWI arrest results from Thursday night property damage wreck in Southern Lewis County: NYSP

LEWIS- A property damage wreck Thursday night in southern Lewis County has resulted in DWI charges filed against a North Country resident.

Ellis M. Cady, 40, of Ava, NY was arrested and charged by the New York State Police (Lowville) with one count each of DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC or greater).

According to Troopers, these charges stem from reports of a property damage wreck on State Route 26 in the town of Lewis.

It happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. No injuries were reported.

At press time, police said that Cady was issued with an appearance ticket.
