DWI charges filed in wake of property damage wreck in town of Western, Troopers say

WESTERN- A property damage wreck in Oneida County has resulted in DWI related charges filed against a resident from the Mohawk Valley.

Miah D. Mendoza, 28, of Rome, NY was arrested and charged on Sunday night by the New York State Police (Lee) with DWI (first offense), operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC or greater) and one additional misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

According to the State Police, the crash occurred shortly before 9:00 P.M. Sunday on the Stokes Westernville Road, town of Western.

No injuries were reported as of press time. Meanwhile, police said that Mendoza was issued with an appearance ticket.
