
LOWVILLE- The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has announced a pair of welfare fraud arrests.
Kayla Hoffman, 33, of Lowville, NY and Bobbie Guyette, 26, of Carthage, NY are both accused of collecting funds from Lewis County Department of Social Services, to which they were not entitled to.
Hoffman is formally charged with one felony count each of welfare fraud in the fourth-degree and grand larceny in the fourth-degree, while Guyette is formally charged with one felony count each of welfare fraud in the third-degree and grand larceny in the third-degree.
The charges against Hoffman stem from complaints filed in October, 2023, while the charges against Guyette trace back to last July.
Both suspects were issued with appearance tickets, which are returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
