EMERGENCY RESPONDERS: Home near Natural Bridge destroyed in Thursday morning fire

NATURAL BRIDGE- There were several emergency responders on the scene of a fire late Thursday morning that destroyed a North Country home.

It happened at 41980 County Route 41, near the hamlet of Natural Bridge, NY.

Although we have not received any reports regarding people injuries, we do have tragic confirmation that three kittens were lost in this blaze.

The homeowner, Karen Taylor, managed to escape without harm, emergency responders said.

Firefighters had to deal with high winds while fighting the flames. Despite their best efforts, the home was completely destroyed.

Furthermore, the blaze spread to a camper nearby, which was destroyed, however; emergency responders managed to save a nearby horse barn.

An official cause is under investigation.

Fire Departments on scene included: Natural Bridge, Carthage, Castorland, Deferiet, Great Bend, Rutland and West Carthage.
