EMERGENCY RESPONDERS: Homeowner suffers burns in Forestport area blaze Monday morning

ONEIDA COUNTY- A Monday morning blaze in the town of Forestport is under investigation.

It was sometime around 11:30 a.m. when Forestport Fire Department was called out to a structure fire at 11818 North Lake Road.

Fire Chief Mike Clover says the home is a total loss and the homeowner suffered injuries that were consistent with burns. With that said, the severity of the burns was not described by emergency responders, as of this report.

The homeowner was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and/or treatment. No other injuries were reported.

Members from Woodgate and Otter Lake Fire Departments provided mutual aid. STaR Ambulance and the Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
