Fatal collision from last September results in arrest of Herkimer County person: TROOPERS

NEWPORT- State Police have made an arrest that traces back to a fatal motor vehicle collision last fall in Herkimer County.

During the afternoon hours on Monday, Troopers from the Herkimer Barracks said that Jordan F. Doxtader, 33, of Newport, NY was formally charged with one felony count each of vehicular assault and vehicular manslaughter in the second-degrees, along with one count each of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second-degree.

Those charges stem from a fatal collision in late September of 2025 in the town of Newport.

In a separate matter, Doxtader was also arrested and charged for a misdemeanor of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

All of these charges were filed in both the town and village of Newport, NY.

At press time, Doxtader’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment. There were no further details provided.
