Felony, misdemeanor charges filed against Forestport area resident in wake of Sunday evening domestic incident

FORESTPORT- Charges have been filed against a local resident from Northern Oneida County in the wake of a reported domestic incident Sunday late afternoon.

According to the New York State Police (Marcy), Joseph P. Albert, 38, of Forestport, NY was arrested Sunday evening on one felony count of assault in the second-degree, along with one misdemeanor count each of criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree and menacing in the third-degree.

Troopers say these charges all stem from a domestic dispute in the town of Forestport.

At press time, Albert’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
