Firefighters respond to reported chimney fire in Steuben

ONEIDA COUNTY- A chimney fire prompted the response of various emergency services Tuesday night.

It was shortly after 10:15 p.m. when 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call about a structure fire at 8945 Lewis Road in Steuben, NY (towards the Frenchville end).

Western Fire Department was the primary responder. Firefighters confirmed a chimney fire, though further details about the outcome have yet to surface as of this publication.

Floyd, Holland Patent and Remsen Fire Departments all provided mutual aid.

The State Police and Sheriff’s Office assisted.
