GREIG- Emergency responders assisted a horseback rider who was thrown and stepped on in Lewis County.

It happened on the morning of June 27 in the town of Greig, Lewis County. Forest Rangers Evans, Hanno, and Lee responded to a call for a horseback rider thrown from a horse and stepped on.

Rangers, 3-G Volunteer Fire Department, and Lewis County Search and Rescue reached the 61-year-old from New Hampshire.

Rescuers packaged the patient into a rescue litter and loaded them onto a Ranger six-wheeler for transport to an awaiting ambulance.

EMS transported the patient to Wynn Hospital.

Resources were clear at 12:50 p.m.
