LOWVILLE- A level three sex offender from the North Country is accused of violating New York’s Sex Offender Registry by harassing a victim through social media. According to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin S. Lobdell, 42, of Croghan, NY was arrested on Tuesday for three felony charges of violating the sex offender registry (second offense). Investigators received a complaint last week that Lobdell was harassing a victim via Facebook Messenger. It turns out that Lobdell allegedly had created three different Facebook accounts, all of which were unregistered, and used different variations of his name to harass the victim, police said. Following processing at the Public Safety Building, Lobdell was arraigned and jailed, without bail, as he is being held on a probation violation. Lewis County Probation assisted with the investigation and further charges are pending, authorities said at press time.
