HAMILTON COUNTY- A snowmobiler was taken to an area hospital after smashing into a tree last Friday in the Western Adirondacks.

In the latest weekly New York State Forest Ranger Highlights, officials said there was a snowmobile accident shortly before 2:00 p.m. on the Uncas Road, town of Inlet.

Forest Rangers Miller and Scott both assisted members of Inlet Fire and EMS and Raquette Lake Fire Department.

Per the New York State DEC, it was determined that a 23-year-old male from Schenectady, NY had struck a tree and was ejected from his snowmobile.

Rangers said the accident caused the victim to temporarily lose consciousness. 

At press time, it was reported that Rangers assisted other rescuers in packaging the subject, and an Inlet ambulance transported the subject to a hospital for treatment.

There were no further details provided.
