Tom Homan, a native to West Carthage, NY, found himself as the acting director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under Donald Trump’s first Presidential Administration.

Now, the North Country native has been chosen to serve in Trump’s second and upcoming administration as “border czar,” according to the latest from the Associated Press.

While overseeing both the northern and southern borders, it’s reported that Trump said that Homan will “be in charge of all deportation of illegal aliens back to their country of origin.”

According to an interview with Fox News Channel, Homan clarified that the military would not be rounding up and arresting illegal migrants, but rather ICE would be the driving force behind Trump’s plans and would do so in a “humane manner.”

Trump has reportedly said that he has had “no doubt” that Homan “will do a fantastic, and long awaited for, job.”
