LOWVILLE- A local resident is accused of violating a court order in Lewis County, authorities say.

David A. Gerdon III, 29, of Lowville, NY was arrested on Sunday by the village police department for one count of criminal contempt in the second-degree.

Chief of Police Daryl Ortlieb says Gerdon had alleged contact with a victim via social media, which was unwanted, after an order of protection had already been established by Lowville Town Court.

At press time, authorities said that Gerdon III was issued with an appearance ticket.
