Garage fire prompts emergency response in Boonville

BOONVILLE- Emergency dispatchers in Oneida County said several emergency responders were dispatched to a structure fire late Thursday afternoon.

The call came in shortly after 5:00 p.m. in the area of Lovers Lane @ Hoffert Road (no exact address is available as of this report).

Boonville was the primary Fire Department on scene, along with Constableville, Floyd and Remsen Fire Departments providing mutual aid.

State Troopers and Boonville Police responded as well.

According to dispatchers, this was a garage fire that became fully involved and reportedly began spreading into the nearby woods.

Emergency officials also initially reported that there were explosions going off, though emergency dispatchers confirmed the blaze was brought under control.
