It’s time to fall back.
As the temperatures have cooled off and the fall foliage has faded, New Yorkers are reminded that Daylight Saving Time will end Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 2:00 a.m.
This means when you go to sleep Saturday evening, you will turn your clocks back one-hour (if they don’t turn back automatically).
The current system that the U.S. follows, which was established in 2007, is based from the second Sunday in March through the first Sunday of November, which is called daylight saving time.
Clocks fall back an hour from November through the second Sunday in March, where they "spring ahead."
Although it has roots for train time tables over a century ago, Daylight Saving Time was practiced heavily throughout Europe and the U.S. to save fuel during World War I.
