ALBANY, NY- Governor Kathy Hochul has laid out her plans for a stronger, safer, more affordable New York as she unveiled the Executive Budget for Fiscal Year 2027.
“Every dollar in this year’s budget is being put to work to fight for families,” she said.
The Governor claims the latest proposed Executive Budget once again includes record investments for New Yorkers, without raising income taxes.
However, state legislators who represent the North Country have been reacting to the Governor’s latest proposed budget, and it seems they have a different take.
“If it moves, they tax it. If it doesn’t move, they tax it,” said State Senator, Mark Walczyk.
“New Yorkers are being crushed by rising costs, and Governor Hochul’s State of the State made clear that affordability is still not her priority,” said State Assemblyman, Robert Smullen.
“As I enter my final session in the Assembly, I’ve never been more concerned about the direction Albany has taken with the state budget,” said New York State Assemblyman, Ken Blankenbush.
