
LEWIS COUNTY- A round of heavy rain and thunderstorms pummeled parts of Lewis County Sunday late afternoon and evening, prompting numerous road closures in the Belfort, Croghan, New Bremen and Watson areas.
“It was raining so hard,” a resident from Watson told us.
***UPDATE AT 5:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 11: As of this report, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office confirms that River Road (New Bremen to Watson) and Effley Falls Road (Croghan) have both re-opened.
Meanwhile, several other roads that were closed down have since re-opened since last evening, including Belfort Road, Benton Road, Deveines Road, Erie Canal Road and Snell Road.
