Herkimer County assault investigation results in felony and misdemeanor charge against Cold Brook resident

RUSSIA- A reported assault investigation in Herkimer County has led to the arrest of a local resident.

On Tuesday night, the New York State Police (Herkimer) formally charged Logan D. Shumway, 22, of Cold Brook, NY with one felony count of assault in the second-degree (w/intent to cause physical injury w/a weapon) and one misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree.

Troopers say these charges stem from an alleged assault incident, which was reported Tuesday night in the town of Russia.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending.

An arrest status was not provided as of this publication and there were no further details available.
