WATSON- Although no injuries have been reported, a Lewis County home is a total loss following a Tuesday night blaze near Lowville, NY.

It happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. Lowville Fire Department was dispatched to 8618 Number Four Road, town of Watson.

9-1-1 dispatchers said the family woke up to the sound of blaring smoke detectors. A fire was subsequently discovered in the living room area.

Everyone made it out safely, emergency officials confirmed at press time. Despite that, the home, reportedly owned by Ricky Mullin Jr., is a total loss, according to Fire Chief Joe Austin.

By the time firefighters located the scene, the second floor had already collapsed.

Croghan and New Bremen Fire Departments provided mutual aid.

A downed and live power line across the front yard disrupted firefighters attack plans from the front, so they had to work from behind the home until National Grid cleared the way.

No official cause has been determined, but officials say the investigation remains ongoing.

The home was insured.
