Hulbert House Tap Room Renovations Underway

Published on July 06, 2022

A Spooky Stay at the Hulbert House

BOONVILLE-Plans for a new tap room at Boonville’s Hulbert House have shifted into full gear and renovations have begun. Ava residents Keith and Katie Redland, owners of the Woodland Farm Brewery told reporters from the Rome Sentinel that they have had their eyes the Hulbert House because they see it as a “cool spot that would be perfect for another small tap room”. They said their plans are to replicate the original of the tavern. The exposed brick wall and wood floors will remain as will the paintings that have hung in the space for decades. Even the mounted moose and deer heads will be hung back on the wall. They are in the process of searching for the round bar that became synonymous with the Hulbert House tavern. The taproom will serve beers brewed at the Woodland Farm Brewery in Marcy in addition to New York State hard ciders, wines, and cocktails with state distilled spirits. The kitchen and beer menu will be similar to what they serve at their original location and will include burgers, sandwiches, wraps, flatbread pizzas, and more. They expect to be hiring bartender and kitchen positions in the coming months. Redhead anticipates being open from Tuesday through Sunday with a closing time of 9 p.m. At this point there is no hard opening date set but they aim to open in late Summer or early Fall.
