WATERTOWN- Approximately $40,000 was raised this year for the 27th annual North Country Chili Cook Off, which is a staple fundraiser for the Volunteer Transportation Center.
All proceeds support crucial transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping trips for local veterans and their families.
“Despite the inclement weather we saw that day, we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd,” said VTC Foundation Director Mr. Jeremiah Papineau.
This year’s in-person event, which was held on March 14 at the Dulles State Office Building, saw 24 teams participate, which was eight more teams than the previous year.
The Chili Crawl portion of the Cook Off was held back in February.
