With winter approaching, there is a significant portion of our North Country population leaving to head south for warmer weather climates.

Because of this, the Volunteer Transportation Center is looking to add some volunteer drivers to help North Country residents get to where they need to be.

This program is aimed for people who do not have access or means to transport themselves to appointments and other necessities. Volunteer drivers for the VTC use their own vehicles to transport neighbors in Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence Counties.

Drivers are reimbursed up to the standard IRS mileage rate to cover the cost of fuel and vehicle repairs.

The ideal Volunteer Driver must:

  1. Be willing to give a minimum of 4 hours per week
  2. Have a clean driving record
  3. Pass a thorough background check
  4. Have a love of giving back to the community

Be sure to visit Volunteer Transportation Center's website or call their main office at 315-376-3777 or 315-788-0422.
