LOWVILLE- July is National Ice Cream Month and what better way to celebrate than visiting the Lewis County Fair.
Ice cream and other like dairy products have been a Lewis County Fair staple for generations.
In the Dairy Industry Building, you will find Lewis County Dairy Princess Evelyn Farese and her court serving up some of the coldest, freshest and tastiest dairy treats around.
Wednesday, July 19 is day two of the 202nd fair and it's Children's Day and Dairy Day, sponsored by Kraft Heinz. At 1:00 p.m., Princess Farese says everyone is invited to indulge on the gigantic ice cream sundae.
"We also have a special for kids day - we will be serving cotton candy ice cream," she told us. Listen to our latest on-air coverage here:
On Thursday, the dairy special will feature lemon-lime milk punch. During Holstein Day on Friday, the special will be cookies & cream ice cream and Saturday will feature chocolate sundaes for demolition derby day.
National Ice Cream Day was July 16 and National Ice Cream Month follows on the heels of National Dairy Month in June.
