LOWVILLE- There is a homeless population in Lewis County, but it's most likely not what you would imagine it to be, at-least according to one local lawmaker.
"There are people who, you know, consistent housing," said District Two Legislator Lisa Virkler.
"They might be staying at a friends house one week and a relative the next, so they're not necessarily out on the streets sleeping, but they do not have a place to call their own."
As of this report, the county is currently eyeballing three potential sites that could be transformed someday into a facility that would provide shelter for those who need help getting back on their feet.
These locations include the Glenfield Elementary building, a county owned vacant lot and the Andover House. These potential sites were revealed during the latest Board of Legislators meeting on Tuesday.
$30,000 will be used to go towards this initiative.
