Larceny investigation from spring of 2025 in Forestport results in arrest of Oneida County man

FORESTPORT- A larceny investigation from last spring in Northern Oneida County has resulted in charges filed against a local resident.

On Thursday afternoon, the New York State Police (Sylvan Beach) arrested and charged John W. Feketa, 58, of Westmoreland, NY with one misdemeanor count each of petit larceny and issuing a bad check (w/known insufficient funds).

According to Troopers, this arrest stems from a larceny investigation in the town of Forestport that was reported on May 29, 2025.

At press time, police said an investigation was still pending. Meanwhile, Feketa’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.
