LCGH Auxiliary donates $30,000 toward purchase of new 3-D Mammography System
LOWVILLE-The Lewis County General Hospital Auxiliary recently donated $30,000 to Lewis County Health System to support the purchase of the new state-of-the-art Hologic 3D Dimensions Mammography System, with Genius AI, for the Radiology Department.
Dubbed by LCHS officials as cutting-edge technology, officials say this investment represents the latest advancement in breast imaging, and enhances early detection, improves diagnostic accuracy, and provides a more comfortable experience for patients.
"The Auxiliary's donation toward the new mammography system is truly remarkable," said Gerald R. Cayer, LCHS Chief Executive Officer.
"Our organization is extremely grateful to all the LCGH Auxiliary members who have volunteered their time and energy to raise funds for the health system. Their collective efforts make a difference for our patients, residents, and community."
The Auxiliary raises funds through hospital gift shop sales, fundraisers, and dues paid by members. The fundraising efforts have helped fund many special projects, purchase much-needed equipment, and provide scholarships for area students.
The Auxiliary is always welcoming new members and volunteers to work in the gift shop or help with a sale or event. Every new volunteer brings unique skills and perspectives, enriching the collective effort to enhance patient care and strengthen community connections.
