A North Country resident is accused of intoxicated driving following reports of a traffic stop early Friday in Lewis County, authorities say.
Jered E. Morrison, 46, of Watson, NY was arrested shortly after midnight on Friday by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Morrison is formally charged with DWI.
According to Deputies, patrols spotted a 2009 Kia Sportage heading north on South State Street in the village of Lowville, NY without its head lamps on.
Police conducted a traffic stop on Park Avenue. Further investigation led to field sobriety tests on-scene to which Morrison, the alleged driver, reportedly failed.
During processing at the Public Safety Building, police said Morrison registered a .17% BAC.
Morrison was released with appearance tickets, with all charges returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
