LEYDEN- A Lewis County resident is faced with a charge for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender, investigators say.

On Saturday, Patrick J. Baumgartner, 46, of Croghan, NY was arrested and charged by the Sheriff’s Office with one felony count of failing to register as a sex offender.

According to authorities, Baumgartner changed his residency, but reportedly failed to meet the proper guidelines of updating his address with the sex offender registry.

Following processing at the Public Safety Building, Baumgartner was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Leyden Town Court at a later date.
