Les Porter Passed Away Tuesday

UTICA-A popular local Oneida County political leader and friend to many has passed away. Leslie Earl Porter aged 86 died peacefully at the Masonic Home in Utica, New York on Tuesday. Les was a strong advocate for Northern Oneida County for many years residing in what he called most fondly, “Remsen City, USA.” He served his community as a Remsen Volunteer Fire fighter, Remsen Central School Board member and president, Remsen Town Supervisor, and he was the District 6 Oneida Co Legislator for 26 years! Les Porter could be seen at most parades and events throughout the area for many years. He will be missed.
