
LOWVILLE- Households and individuals who rely on SNAP are advised that their November benefits will likely be delayed amidst the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Unless the government re-opens or some other federal action is taken, local officials say SNAP benefits cannot be issued for November (check out our latest on-air segment with Lewis County DSS Commissioner, Jennifer Jones, from Thursday, October 30).
For the time being, anyone needing SNAP should continue completing all requirements to avoid any potential further delays, including recertification and reporting changes.
Meanwhile, officials at Department of Social Services will continue with accepting and processing SNAP applications.
