
NEW HARTFORD- A Lewis County man is faced with felony accusations in a Mohawk Valley grand larceny case, authorities say.
David Schmandt, 35, of Brantingham, NY was recently arrested by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. He is formally charged with one felony count each of grand larceny in the third-degree and criminally possessing stolen property in the third-degree; along with one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
Schmandt, who is an employee for a contractor, allegedly stole jewelry and cash from a residence in the town of New Hartford, the Sheriff’s Office said.
He was sent to the county’s CAP Court to await arraignment.
