Lewis County man facing charges in alleged rape case, investigators say

NEW BREMEN- A man from Lewis County has been arrested and is facing rape related charges, authorities are reporting.

Willard E. Bailey, 32, of Lowville, NY was arrested Wednesday morning by the New York State Police (Lowville). He is officially charged with one felony count of criminal sex act in the third-degree (lack of consent) and one misdemeanor count of criminal obstruction of breathing.

According to Troopers, these charges stem from an investigation in the town of New Bremen, with complaints filed July 29.

At press time, investigators said Bailey was held.
