Lewis County man who went off road into embankment charged with DWI, registers a .16% BAC, deputies say

LEWIS- A man from Lewis County is accused of intoxicated driving after his vehicle went off the roadway and down into an embankment, authorities say.

Richard Caton, 73, of the Osceola Road, town of Lewis is officially charged with DWI and other traffic infractions, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday night, emergency responders were notified of a single vehicle accident on the Osceola Road, town of Lewis. When deputies arrived on scene, Caton reportedly appeared to be intoxicated.

Field sobriety tests were conducted on scene, to which Caton apparently failed. Following his transport to the Lewis County Public Safety Building, Caton registered a .16% BAC.

He was processed and issued with appearance tickets. All charges are returnable to the Town of Lewis Court at a later date.
