Lewis County resident charged with felony criminal contempt and criminal mischief in wake of alleged New Bremen domestic dispute

NEW BREMEN- A local resident is faced with accusations that stem from complaints of a domestic dispute over the weekend in Lewis County, authorities say.

Daniel P. Monnat, 28, of Croghan, NY was arrested Sunday evening by the New York State Police (Lowville). Monnat is officially charged with one felony count of criminal contempt in the first-degree (physical contact) and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief in the fourth-degree (preventing emergency call).

According to Troopers, the charges stem from reports of a town of New Bremen domestic dispute shortly after 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

At press time, police said Monnat was issued with an appearance ticket.
