LYONS FALLS- The library continues being active as spring nears its way closer.
The “Winter Blues” Crafting Series for adults still has seats available for March 18 “cactus felting class” with Anne Huntress - you can choose from 6 designs to make 3 little forever cacti.
On March 21 through April 1, the library will host its famous “Basket Raffle,” with all kinds of gifts and houseware - "and they’re not all small enough to fit in a basket!" says Library Director Megan Honey.
Five dollars gets you a raffle card with 25 raffle tickets, and one ticket for the Door Prize. "Proceeds from the Basket Raffle will go to our Library Insurance Fund," Honey explained.
On the same dates - March 21 through April 1 - the library will be hosting a South Lewis Student Art Show, by artists in Grades K through 12, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on opening day, Tuesday, March 21.
Finally, on March 28, “Open Mic Night/Library Show and Tell” will return with tasteful family entertainment, from 5 to 7 p.m.
"Bring your family and bring your talent—music, poetry, comedy, anything you’d like to show or show off! We’ll provide the mic, a piano and a guitar amp," Honey said.
"If you’d like to sign up for crafting or Open Mic, or learn more about the Basket Raffle and the Art Show, call me at the Library - 315-348-618 - check us out online, or stop by during Library hours. Your Lyons Falls Library is busy all month, with a lot more than books!"
