List of local Great North American Eclipse events and gatherings

NASA Eclipse

If you're traveling to New York State to view the Great North American Eclipse, the North Country and surrounding communities would like to welcome you for this very special occasion!

There are several events and gatherings for this once in a generation event that have been organized from the Tug Hill Plateau to the Western Adirondacks and beyond. 

We will be adding to this list as the eclipse approaches, so be sure to share with your friends and family!

OLD FORGE AND WESTERN ADIRONDACKS:

Eclipse celebration at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center (201 North Street, Old Forge). Doors open at 10:00 a.m. More details here.

Town of Inlet is having a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Arrowhead Park (160 Route 28, Inlet NY)  The event is aimed to begin at 2:00 p.m. More details here.

Mountain Mystics Guide Co. will host a labyrinth walk, drumming, meditation, fire and an eclipse viewing - with activities starting at 11:00 a.m. More details here.

 

JEFFERSON COUNTY:

Busted Grapes (19557 Ball Rd, Black River, NY) is hosting a Total Eclipse Party with a family-friendly celebration.  You can bring a lawn chair or blanket and there will be a food truck and craft boutique onsite, as well as Karaoke after the Eclipse.  The event runs from Noon to 9 p.m. More details here.

 

LEWIS COUNTY:

Roads End Orchards (5044 Crofoot Hill Rd, Constableville, NY) will be hosting a 'Lights Out' eclipse party from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  DJ Unicorn Chaos will be providing music during the event, Divine Catering will be onsite with delicious food, and Commemorative mugs and beer glasses are available for preorder. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket.  More details here.

Snow Ridge Ski Resort and Tavern230 (4173 W Rd, Turin, NY) will host a solar eclipse party from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. $10 entry includes the Tavern party, a chair lift ride to the top of the hill, and a pair of AAS certified viewing glasses to the first 100 pre-sale tickets sold. The Tavern will open at Noon with drink and food specials, music, lawn games, and outdoor fire pit. The chair lift will run from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 P.M. All guests MUST walk down the hill. There will be NO down loading on the lift. Viewing of the eclipse may be done from the bottom of the hill, from the chair lift, or the top of the hill. More details here.

Lewis County Fair and the Lowville Free Library are hosing "Totality on the Tug," an eclipse viewing party at the Lewis County Fairgrounds (Lowville, NY) from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eclipse goers can expect to enjoy numerous food trucks on site, along with a cosmic cafe, lawn games, crafts, a story walk, and more.  More details here

Tug Hill Estate (4051 Yancey Rd, Lowville, NY) will host an Eclipse Extravaganza from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. There will be eclipse-themed foods and beverages all day, space for viewing outside, giveaways throughout the day and more. More details here.

3 Willows Event Center (3950 State Route 12, Lyons Falls, NY) is hosing an Eclipse Viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and crafts and activities will be offered.  You can enjoy the Eclipse outside in their turf garden or inside their Main Hall viewing their personal telescoped stream as well as the livestream from NASA. Protective viewing glasses will be available while supplies last.  More details here.

 

ONEIDA COUNTY:

Golf With a Twist (13111 NY-12, Boonville, NY). Starting at 11:00 a.m., eclipse goers and visitors will have opportunities to enjoy ice cream (including a featured eclipse flurry), hit golf balls from the tees and enjoy the day. The first 100 customers will receive a free pair of eclipse glasses.    More details here

Woods Valley Ski Area (9100 State Route 46, Westernville, NY) will host an eclipse party from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10/pp in advance or $15 at the door. Wrist bands will be issued. Parking available with your purchase. Sales will be limited to 400 tickets to ensure better service to guests. More details here.

Rome Community Theater (8911 Turin Rd, Rome, NY) will be hosting an Eclipse Viewing Event from 1:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. They have snacks and restrooms, but bring your own Eclipse Viewing glasses! More details here

Adirondack Central School (8181 State Route 294, Boonville NY) will be hosting an Eclipse Extravaganza from 1:45pm to 5:00 p.m. with food trucks, face painting, a photo booth, and more. Bring your own chair or blanket.  For more information, please visit their Facebook page.
