List of local Memorial Day Parades, Ceremonies throughout the North Country
There will be various Memorial Day Ceremonies and Parades throughout the Central and Northern New York regions.
Here is a list of events we are aware of throughout Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis & Oneida Counties (all events are presumed for Monday, May 26 unless otherwise noted*):
Herkimer County:
Old Forge, NY will host their Memorial Day Parade, beginning at 10:00 A.M.
Town of Ohio will feature a wreath laying ceremony at the Veterans Monument on Nellis Road.
Jefferson County:
Carthage, NY will host a Memorial Day Parade at 10:00 A.M., beginning at the First Baptist Church.
Lewis County:
*On Saturday, May 24, Stillwater #4 Fish & Game, hosting Annual Chicken BBQ and Parade. 9039 #4 RD. Parade begins at 12:00 noon, BBQ to follow.
Lowville, NY and their American Legion Post will host their annual Memorial Day Parade beginning at 11:00 A.M. The parade will start in the Lowville American Legion parking lot, circle through downtown, and end at Veterans Park. A wreath will be placed at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and Veterans Park. Following the parade, there will be brief remarks, a wreath-laying, and then full military honors to the deceased. Post-parade, the public is invited to the American Legion, VFW, and the Marine Corps League for light refreshments.

Loved ones who have Veterans who have been laid to rest are encouraged to attend this solemn ceremony. We provide full military honors to veterans set to rest at these cemeteries.
Oneida County:
Boonville, NY will observe three separate ceremonies, including: Veterans Memorial Forest, Route 294 (9:00 A.M.); Ava Cemetery shortly following the first service and 11:00 A.M. at the Boonville Cemetery.
Forestport, NY will host a Memorial Day service beginning at 9:00 A.M. at Memorial Park on Woodhull Road.
Holland Patent, NY and their American Legion Post 161 will host their annual parade beginning at 10:30 A.M. at the Middle School. There will be a wreath laying at the War Memorial. Refreshments will be served.
Rome, NY will observe their annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park at 10:15 A.M. (North James Street). Meanwhile, New York State Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund will have a Memorial Day service at 2:00 P.M. at Griffiss Park.
Utica, NY will have a Memorial Day Parade at 10:00 A.M.
