LOWVILLE- A local man has been acquitted of domestic violence accusations.
Last week, James P. Marra III, 44 of Greig, NY appeared in Lewis County Court for a trial regarding numerous separate incidents of domestic violence, which reportedly occurred between the fall of 2019 and June of 2021.
According to the latest updates from Linking Lewis County.com., a 12-person jury, including nine women and three men, found Marra not guilty on the four counts against him, including felony strangulation and felony assault in the second-degrees; along with one misdemeanor count each of assault in the third-degree.
The trial began last Monday with the jury selection. Testimonies followed and closing arguments took place the following Wednesday, with the jury reaching a decision that Friday.
