ONEIDA COUNTY- A local registered sex offender is faced with a felony accusation for allegedly not registering their online accounts, authorities say.

Steven Velardi, 53, of Floyd, NY was arrested last Thursday by members of the Oneida County Child Sheriff’s Office and Child Advocacy Center.

He is officially charged with one felony count of failing to register his internet accounts/internet access provider.

The arrest was the result of an investigation in June, where it was learned that Velardi had failed to register his internet accounts/internet service provider with the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services, as required under the NYS Corrections Law and Sex Offender Registry Act as a NYS registered sex offender.

Velardi was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Whitestown Court at a later date.
