Local resident accused of driving with BAC over three times the legal limit, Deputies say

WEST TURIN- A local resident is accused of driving with a BAC over three times the legal limit in Lewis County, authorities say.

It was shortly before 8:00 p.m. Monday when 9-1-1 dispatch received complaints of an erratic driver on State Route 26, near Turin, NY.

Sheriff’s Deputies managed to located the vehicle, a 2008 Chevy Silverado. The alleged driver, Nicholas P. Hoskins, 18, of Lyons Falls, NY was interviewed and during questioning, police reportedly detected the odor of alcoholic beverage.

Hoskins reportedly failed field sobriety tests on-scene and was taken in to the Public Safety Building for processing.

While there, it’s reported that Hoskins registered a .26% BAC.

Hoskins was issued with appearance tickets, which are all returnable to West Turin Town Court at a later date.

A list of exact charges were not specified from police.
