Local resident accused of leaving the scene of an accident in Southern Lewis County, Troopers say

LEYDEN- Charges have been filed against a local resident in the wake of a personal injury accident last Saturday in Southern Lewis County.

Warren E. Gerrish, 31, of Boonville, NY was formally charged Thursday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville) for one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious injury.

Furthermore, police officials said that Gerrish is also faced with one misdemeanor count each of reckless endangerment in the second-degree and reckless driving.

According to Troopers, these charges all stem from a personal injury accident, which was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. July 27 in the town of Leyden.

Details in terms of the accident itself were not specified by State Police, however; officials did mention that there were two people injured.

At press time, police said that Gerrish was issued with an appearance ticket.
