New York State Small Business Development Center gives the 2024 Rural Small Business of the Year Award to Hand In Hand Childhood Center

LEWIS COUNTY- Hand In Hand Childhood Center has received a “remarkable achievement.”

On Monday, Executive Director Jenniffer Bleakley accepted the ‘Rural Small Business of the Year’ award, an achievement via New York’s Small Business Development Center.

A special ceremony was held at Harrisville Central School, where the event featured speeches from local officials and program supporters, highlighting the importance of accessible childcare in our rural communities.

“Hand in Hand is helping ensure children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and loving environment,” officials from NYSSBDC said in a released statement. “With nearly $3 million in funding secured for its vital expansion, Hand in Hand continues to meet the needs of families in the community.”

After the award presentation, attendees toured the facility, witnessing firsthand the nurturing environment Hand in Hand provides for children.

"Seeing the kids engaged in their activities was heartwarming, embodying the center's mission to foster development through a play-centered approach," NYSSBDC officials added.
