Local resident accused of public lewdness in Southern Lewis County

TURIN- A local resident is accused of exposing an intimate body part in public, authorities say.

Clarence A. Merry, 44, of Turin, NY was arrested on Monday by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Merry is formally charged with one count of public lewdness.

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, Merry allegedly exposed an intimate part of his body, while in public. The incident occurred on Monday on the Turin Road, town of Turin.

At press time, police said that Merry was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Meanwhile, an order of protection was issued on the complainant’s behalf.

Merry is due to answer the charge in Turin Town Court at a later date.

The New York State Police assisted.
