Knife was involved in Boonville dispute that resulted in charges against local suspect, Deputies say

BOONVILLE- Authorities say a local resident from Northern Oneida County is faced with charges after a victim reportedly received minor injuries during a dispute last week.

According to Sheriff’s Investigators, a patrol deputy, who was assigned to the Barneveld Field Office, was dispatched by the 9-1-1 Center for a dispute located at 120 Church Street in the village of Boonville, NY.

It happened sometime around 2:00 A.M. Thursday, March 26.

Investigation verified that there was a dispute and an individual received minor lacerations from a sharp object during the dispute. Upon arrival, the caller and resident Erica Croniser, 36, of Boonville, NY told officers that some friends had shown up and that a verbal argument had ensued among the parties, which had all since dispersed.

An area check was performed to ensure the parties had left the area. While performing the area check, the 9-1-1 dispatch center had advised of a potential stab victim from the same incident wanting to file a report.

Further investigation revealed that a knife was present during the dispute and a victim had suffered minor lacerations to one of her legs.

On Sunday, police said that Croniser was arrested and charged with Assault in the third-degree and Criminal Possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree.

Croniser was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Boonville Town Court at a later date.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the New York State Police.
