Local town official from Lewis County accused of intoxicated driving in Watertown

WATERTOWN- A North Country area town official is accused of intoxicating driving in Jefferson County last month.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested and charged Clifford A. Young, 64, of Lowville, NY with aggravated DWI and DWI.

Police say these charges were filed on August 21 in the town of Watertown.

At press time, the Sheriff’s Office said Young was issued with appearance tickets, which are returnable to Watertown Town Court at a later date.

According to local records, Clifford A. Young is the Montague Town Highway Superintendent
