Local woman accused of animal cruelty charges, Troopers say

NORWAY- A woman from the Kuyahoora Valley area is accused of charges that relate to animal abuse, authorities say.

Lorraine A. Rose, 60, of Newport, NY was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Herkimer). She is officially charged with five misdemeanor counts of torture, injuring and/or not feeding an animal.

According to Troopers, the charges stem from complaints filed last Wednesday in the town of Norway.

At press time, police said an investigation was still pending.

Rose was issued with an appearance ticket and there were no further details provided to report.
